Optional equipment

Keep what works. Refresh only if you need to.

VideoSafes starts with the cameras you already have. If a building needs a new camera, a small box to link older cameras, or a new recorder, we'll help you pick the right one and plan it with you or your installer.

How we approach equipment

Three common starting points.

Start with the cameras you have

Most customers start by bringing the cameras they already own into VideoSafes. If they cover the building well, there's nothing to replace.

  • We check the cameras you already have
  • Add viewing from anywhere and saved video first
  • Replace a camera only if it's causing problems

Replace only what needs replacing

If a camera is old, broken, or a spot isn't covered, we'll help you pick a replacement from a well-known brand — without replacing everything else.

  • Works with the major camera brands
  • Indoor, outdoor, and wide-area camera options
  • Planned together with your VideoSafes setup

Planning a new building?

For a new property or a full upgrade, we can help you plan the cameras, mounts, and setup in one go. Buying and installing usually goes through you or your installer.

  • Useful for new buildings and full upgrades
  • Plain, unbranded cameras available if you prefer
  • Planned around VideoSafes from day one

If you need it

Equipment we can help you choose.

This is a guide, not a shopping list. Most buildings need little or nothing from it, and we confirm what works with your cameras on a short online call.

Camera brands

Works with cameras from the major brands.

We always start with the cameras already on site. When new ones are needed, we help you choose from well-known brands — or plain, unbranded cameras if you prefer — without locking you into one maker.

FAQ

Equipment questions

Short answers about cameras, links, and brands.

Do we have to buy cameras from VideoSafes?

No. Most customers start with the cameras they already have. New equipment only comes up if a building is missing coverage or a camera has stopped doing its job.

Do you ship boxed kits?

No. VideoSafes is an app and service. If a building needs a small box to link its cameras, we help you choose the right one and plan it with you or your installer.

Which camera brands work with VideoSafes?

VideoSafes works with cameras from most well-known makers. We confirm your exact cameras on a short online call before you commit to anything.

When would we need a link for older cameras?

When your older cameras still work well but you can't watch them from anywhere or keep their video long enough. A small on-site link brings them into VideoSafes without replacing them.

Can you help plan a whole new building?

Yes. For new buildings or full upgrades we can put together a list of cameras and mounts and plan the VideoSafes setup with you or your installer.

Start with the cameras you have.

Tell us what cameras you have and how many properties. We'll suggest a plan first, and only talk about new equipment where a building really needs it.
