FAQ
Getting started
Start here if you are evaluating cloud video for an existing camera environment.
What is VideoSafes?
VideoSafes is a cloud video platform for property and multi-site teams. It helps organizations keep existing cameras, use smart motion AI, save video longer in the cloud, and bring different camera brands into one desktop and mobile view. Connectivity or camera refreshes are planned only when a site needs them.
How is VideoSafes different from systems that sell their own cameras?
Closed systems usually require proprietary cameras from that vendor. VideoSafes is built for sites with mixed camera brands: keep working cameras, confirm compatibility in an online evaluation, and plan hardware only if a site needs it.
How do we get started?
Schedule a demo, share your camera brands, sites, and saved-video goals, and the VideoSafes team will walk through product fit live on screen. You can also call (631) 333-0053 or review compatibility at /compatibility.
Does VideoSafes replace every camera?
No. Most customers start with the cameras they already have. Replacing anything is optional — only when a building needs new cameras or a new recorder.
Do you ship cloud adapters or camera kits?
No. VideoSafes is an app and service. If a building needs a new camera or a small box to link older cameras, we help you choose the right equipment and plan it with you or your installer. We don't sell boxed kits. Hardware is never required to evaluate VideoSafes online.
FAQ
Platform and capabilities
Does VideoSafes work with cameras we already have?
VideoSafes is designed to modernize existing camera environments. Compatibility depends on the cameras, recorders, and network conditions at your sites, so an online demo usually starts with your current brands and layout.
Can we keep longer video history in the cloud?
Yes. A core use case is saving video longer than local recorders can support, with cloud storage options up to a year when longer history matters.
Can one platform cover multiple manufacturers?
Yes. VideoSafes is built for mixed camera brands so teams can use one view instead of managing every manufacturer as a separate system. See /compatibility for common setups.
What smart motion AI does VideoSafes support?
VideoSafes can classify motion events for people, vehicles, and animals. This helps teams narrow review faster instead of watching long sections of video manually.
Are license plate recognition, people counting, and PPE detection available?
Yes. License plate recognition, people counting, and safety PPE detection are available as add-ons when a site needs those analytics. An online demo can confirm which cameras and locations are a good fit.
Who typically needs access?
Common users include local operators, regional managers, loss-prevention or facilities teams, and central security staff. Access should match real responsibilities across sites.
Can administrators audit logins and video access?
Yes. VideoSafes includes audit logs for login and access activity so administrators can review who used the system and when.
Is VideoSafes available on desktop and mobile?
Yes. The product is designed for browser and mobile access so approved teams can review live and recorded video away from a local recorder.
FAQ
Demo and evaluation
Is the demo online or on-site?
Demos are live online sessions. We screen-share the VideoSafes platform and walk through your use cases. No site visit is required to evaluate product fit.
What should we prepare for an online demo?
Bring a rough view of your locations, camera brands, who needs access, how teams review footage today, and any saved-video or incident-review needs you want to evaluate.
How long is a typical online demo?
Most sessions focus on the tasks that matter to your team: live access, playback, incident review, saved-video planning, and multi-site navigation.
Do we need a perfect camera inventory first?
No. A practical estimate of sites, brands, and priority locations is enough to make the conversation useful. Exact counts can be refined later.
Can the demo focus on our industry?
Yes. Tell us your industry and how your team uses video so the online demo can focus on the locations, roles, and review scenarios that matter most.
Do you ship cloud adapters for the demo?
No. Online demos show the software. If a building later needs a small box to link its cameras, we help you choose the right equipment and plan it with you or your installer.
